GED Score System

If you're taking the GED, then you need to know what you must score in order to pass this exam and gain your GED certificate. Read the article below to learn about GED test scores.

You will receive a score for each of the 5 GED Test sections. Your score can range from 200 to 800. You must earn more than a 410 on each of the tests and your average score for all 5 tests must be 450 or higher. That means your overall score must be 2250 total points or higher. Please note that this may vary from state to state.

If you pass some of the tests, but not all, you only need to retake what you did not pass. You can take a test as many times as you need, but there may be a waiting period before you can take the failed test again. You will also need to pay the fees again.

The GED is scored in Maryland by a national testing service.
