Bar Exam

Bar Exams are used to help determine whether or not an individual should be allowed to practice law based on his or her competence in the field. Several Bar Exams have been developed to help gauge professional competence.

Bar exams have been developed in order to gauge if an individual is competent enough to practice law in a specific jurisdiction. There are four main bar exams, the MPT (Multistate Performance Test), MPRE (Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam), MEE (Multistate Essay Exam), and MBE (Multistate Bar Exam). However, they are not all tested in each and every jurisdiction. Each jurisdiction has their own requirements in order to be admitted to the Bar.

Please refer to the jurisdiction you are seeking admission in for further details on the particular requirements you must meet to prove competence to practice. The Bar Admission process varies from jurisdiction to jurisdiction.
