Of course, not everything about Florida has to do with fun and sun. With a stable tourist economy in place, businesses and people continue to flourish. This translates to better job opportunities in all fields, including law.

Whether you want to take paralegal studies in Florida to learn how to assist during trials or you're looking to join the legal team at one of the state's many big-name corporations, the opportunities here are vast. Paralegal training can be completed in as little as a year, depending on the type of education you seek. Two-year Associate degrees are one of the more common ways to get paralegal training, though many private vocational centers offer shorter certification courses, many of which are recognized by the American Bar Association. Students who already possess a Bachelor's degree in an unrelated field may also be able to take advantage of a certification program to supplement their existing degree. You can also get a paralegal training degree in Orlando Florida as well as in many other paralegal schools in the Sunshine State.

As a paralegal, or legal assistant, you become a vital part of the legal team. Although paralegals are prohibited from taking clients or trying cases, more and more lawyers are delegating the tasks of research, writing, and trial preparation to paralegals. This means that in addition to office support, you may find yourself called up to assist the lawyer in all of his or her professional activities.

In order to train you for this task, Florida paralegal schools focus on providing a well-rounded education that includes everything from legal ethics and tort law to macroeconomics and trial protocol. The longer courses (typically those at the Associate or Bachelor level) may also require general education credits and an internship at a local law firm.

Upon graduation from paralegal school in Florida, you can expect an average starting wage of around $42,000. Opportunities may be greater in the larger cities of Orlando and Miami, and many government jobs are available in the capital city.
