Nurses may work in many health care settings, ranging from emergency services to working in patients’ homes, with people of all ages and backgrounds. A nursing career offers a wide variety of roles—sometimes, nurses work in hospitals and health centers, from general wards to emergency wards. They may also work with physicians and surgeons as an integral part of a patient health care team.
Course detail: Nursing courses should be completed before beginning to work as a nurse. A number of nursing schools offer different courses, and some also offer online courses. The basic level is the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), who is able to do many basic tasks.
The next level is a Registered Nurse (RN), and they perform a wide variety of medical procedures that are dictated by the doctor. They may obtain a 2-year associate degree to increase salary and specialization. Other degrees include a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA), a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM), or a Nurse Practitioner (NP). A Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) can deliver babies. According to their area of specialization, nursing salaries may vary.
