New Jersey one of the smaller states, but that doesn’t make it an any less interesting place to live. There are huge city centers nearby, and the nightlife is quite active. There are also quite a few people building homes in this area, making it the perfect place to get started in your interior design career.
In order to become a professional designer, you will need to complete a total of six years schooling and work experience. It’s your choice how you wish to spend them: two years studying and four years working, or vice versa. At the end of the six years, you will be equipped to work on your own, if you so choose, and you can take the National Council for Interior Design Qualification exam to get your license.
Interior designers can earn up to $75 per hour, but it's well-earned income. You will be required to source the best and cheapest materials, find and coordinate workers, and ensure the entire project is done according to client satisfaction, both on time and on budget. You'll also be called upon to design using the latest computer technology and incorporate new, planet-friendly materials for today's savvy consumer. While these skills don't come easily, the right New Jersey interior design school can put you well on your way to an incredible career.
